January 2015 Empties!

January 2015 Empties!
Hey Beauties!

This will be my first Empties post ever! I am really excited to share with you guys what I have used up in January. Although, it's not a lot at all because my skin care routine changes often so it's rare for me to finish products. But I've discovered some products not too long ago and ended up finishing them. I might have also cheated a little since I'm including masks in my empties, but I mean they count right? Anyways, let's jump right into it!

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Toner and Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam
Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam

I got this in my Super Volcanic Set and did a 90 days test on the product. After the test, I wrote my thoughts and review on it. I've heard this cleanser worked wonders for people with oily skin types and since I have oily/combination skin, I wanted to give this a try. Alas, this foam cleanser was not for me. It cleansed well, but it was a bit irritating on my sensitive skin if I use it daily morning and night. After the 90 days test, I used this cleaner only in the evening and found that using it less made it not as irritating. Innisfree is one of my favorite brands and I love a lot of their products, but this cleanser just wasn't for me. I'm glad I purchased the Super Volcanic set instead of an entire cleansing foam, so I was able to test it on my skin first.

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Toner

I got this toner in the same Super Volcanic set I purchased in my first Innisfree haul. It's got that signature Innisfree scent that you will find in a lot of their products. But I didn't mind the perfumey floral/herb scent at all. I think the best time for this toner would have been in the summer time, instead of winter. Although it's pretty much summer all year round here in California. Aside from it having alcohol as its second ingredient, I didn't have much of a problem with it. Not sure if I would purchase it again, since I love trying out new products and finding my Holy Grail items. I will say that it did feel refreshing using it and it did help a little with sebum control.

Lancome Genifique Yeux Light-Pearl
 Lancome Genifique Yeux Light-Pearl
0.16 Fl oz

I got this deluxe sample last year when I purchased a Lancome haul. Saying I love this product would be an understatement. It is amazing how well it worked for the areas around my eyes. It de-puffs, moisturizes, and brightens it as well. It doesn't work that well with dark circles though. I can't quite decide if I want to repurchase this or not. On one hand, I love how the product feels when I apply it and how well it works. On the other hand, now that I have dark circles (lack of sleep and all) I need something that can really target and reduce dark circles as well as the other things this Genifique Yeux Light-Pearl already do. So I'm really in a bind here and being indecisive at times really doesn't help either. I think I will try out other eye creams first, but if I can't find anything better, at least I know I have something to come back to!
Lancome Genifique Yeux Light-Pearl applicator

Oh and what I love about this eye cream the most is this applicator. I am seriously going to clean this out and use it when I apply other eye creams. It's like a mini massage tool for you eyes and I love the cooling feeling it gives as well. Lancome has video instructions on how you are suppose to use this massage applicator, and I do that eye massage every morning and night. I love the relaxing feeling it give plus it helps the eye cream (any eye cream) absorb better.

Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Mask Bija, Mugwort, Black Berry, Honey
 Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Mask
Bija, Mugwort, Black Berry, Honey

I'm a sheet mask gal. I think I've said this dozens of times by now. I love how pampering they feel on my face, and I can relax for a bit by watching some TV dramas, or read a book etc. Since I have sensitive skin, I try to do masks in moderation. This applies to sheet masks as well. Generally, I try to use sheet masks 2 to 3 times per week. Although if I'm really busy that week, I might just use it once. I have been loving Innisfree sheet masks ever since I tried my first one a long, long time ago. I've tried 16 of the 17 types of Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Masks. The only one I haven't tried is their newest addition, the Acai Berry one, and that is on my to try list.

Bija and Mugwort are my 2 go to masks when I break out. I will often use them interchangeably with Green Tea and Aloe as well. Innisfree also have the Tea Tree one in this line and I will use that if I don't have any Bija or Mugwort on hand. But generally, I find that both Bija and Mugwort works better/faster at treating my break outs than the Tea Tree ones.

Black Berry and Honey are both very moisturizing masks. Since I've ran out of my Green Tea and Aloe masks, I have been using these in between my Bija and Mugwort masks instead. I love the smell of both of these masks, you definitely get the hint of honey, although not so much black berry scent for the black berry one. Black berry is also good for firming up the skin and help with the skin's elasticity. The difference between the Black Berry masks and most other It's Read Squeeze masks are that the essence is milky instead of clear.

Sheet masks usually fit really well on my face with the exception of my nose. But these Innisfree sheets are very customizable and by that I mean you can easily tear it to fit. I like to make adjustments to my sheet masks so they fit perfectly without any air bubbles. Leave a comment below if you want to see tips and tricks on how to customize sheet masks!

As mentioned above, I've been a sheet mask gal for like ever. But it was only recently that I tried out hydro gel masks. I had heard plenty of good things about them, but due to my large collection of sheet masks, I had to wait until it's been depleted a bit before buying new ones to try. These 3 hydro gel masks actually came in my beauty boxes (Memebox and Get K-Beauty). My favorite of the 3 is Mediheal's mask and my least favorite is To Be Nang's.

Mediheal's N.M.F Aquaring Nude Gel mask was my first ever gel mask and I wasn't expecting for anything super amazing, yet I fell in love. It's not as easy to use as sheet masks and you can't tear it to fit your face or at least not as easily. However, you can leave it on longer without feeling dry on your face. It's cooling effects was really nice and relaxing plus it's really moisturizing. Oh and it doesn't slide around either, although I must point out that most sheet masks I've tried don't slide around either. So I'm not sure where this sliding business came about. I love this mask a lot but it's quite hard to find around here or online for that matter. Ebay has sellers selling it but I want to purchase from a trusted source. Please let me know if you know of any trusted source that sell this mask!

Faith In Face Miss Invisible Pore Hydro Gel Mask was my second favorite. It's not as good as Mediheal's but not bad either. I didn't see it do much to my pores, although it did help with my break outs and it felt very relaxing when applied as well. This is a 2 piece mask just like Mediheal, a top piece and a bottom piece. Still the fit was not great and it's not easy to fix it to fit my nose. The hydro gel masks tend to be big on my face and fit awkwardly around my nose. These were easier to find than the Mediheal's although I haven't decided if I want to repurchase it or not. I do want to try other hydro gel masks, which is one reason why I haven't repurchased any of these yet.

To Be Nang Snail Nutrition Hydro Gel Mask was my least favorite of the 3. The fit was very awkward and I didn't like how the gel mask itself felt. It was quite sticky when I took it out and if your not careful the mask will easily stick to itself. It takes quite some time to peel it apart once the mask sticks to itself. This hydro gel mask didn't feel as nice on my face as the other 2 masks did and I kept fixing it because of how awkward the fit was. I have 2 other To Be Nang hydro gel masks but I haven't decided if I want to try those 2 or not since this one wasn't my favorite. This mask was in 2 pieces as well, just like the other 2 hydro gel mask.

That's it for January 2015's Empties! I've got some favorites that I know I will be repurchasing such as the Innisfree sheet masks. I want to explore the realm of hydro gel mask and hope to find better or on par ones to my current favorite Mediheal. I am constantly looking for amazing eye creams, although Lancome's Genifique is expensive, it seriously works. If I can't find anything better I know I've got something I can fall back onto. And finally, Innisfree's Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam wasn't my favorite and Jeju Pore Toner was alright but I will be trying out other cleansers and toners to find my Holy Grail products. I've already moved on to new cleanser and toners, and so far so good. Will update you guys on that!

Share with me what your empties from January were and whether you liked them or not!

Until next time and dream big!
