Nooni Spring Water Seed Essence Toner Review

Nooni Spring Water Seed Essence Toner

Hey Dreamers and Creators!

What are your thoughts on toners? Do you have a favorite one, still on the hunt for a good one, or do you skip that step of skincare all together? I found my favorite toner a while ago and finished it just a month ago. Before getting a restock of that favorite toner, which by the way is the Innisfree Olive Real Skin (toner), I decided to give this Nooni Spring Water Seed Essence Toner a chance.

A small circular sticker seal.

Nooni is Memebox's in-house brand. This Spring Water Seed Essence Toner is a fairly new product and came out the same time as several other products from the Spring Water line. "Good water, good skin" is the philosophy that inspired Nooni to create this Spring Water line. Nooni wanted to create water-conscious products that your skin will love.

350ml

Product Description: Nooni Spring Water Seed Essence Toner is made with naturally carbonated spring water from Chojungri, Chungju of South Korea. The carbonated spring water is rich in minerals and it is known as the 'magical water of Asia.' The Seed Essence Toner has a gel-like texture that hydrates like an essence and refreshes like a toner. Using a hydrating toner like this puts your skin in optimal condition and prepares it for the rest of your skincare routine. The Nooni Spring Water Seed Essence Toner can help to fortify skin barrier and nourishes it with a powerful blend of Quinoa seeds and Tea seeds. The Essence Toner contains olive oil which creates a moisture barrier that protects the skin. The Essence Toner is free of alcohol and it is recommended for all skin types, especially those with dry skin.

To Use: Cleanse first. Pour out a good amount of toner onto the hands and gently pat in the essence toner until it is fully absorbed. It is recommended to apply directly with your hands because the natural temperature of your hands helps to maximize absorption. If you have tight, dry winter skin, try layering several layers to boost moisture levels.

packaging

Packaging: At first glance, the bottle looks like frosted glass. However, it is actually frosted plastic. The bottle comes with a twist off lid and a white plastic stopper (see image below). The opening is quite small as well, so no need to worry about pouring out too much toner at once. The box packaging comes with quite a lot of information, although mostly in Korean. The expiration date can be found on the bottom of the bottle or box packaging.

Scent: I am not a fan of the scent. The essence toner comes with detailed scent information. It has a top note, middle note, and base note. Seriously, it sounds more like scent information for perfume than toner. The scent is the biggest downside for me. It is just really strong. I would have preferred the toner better if it did not have all those scents added to it. For those sensitive to fragrances, it is probably best to skip it.
In case anyone is interested the scent information is as follow:
-description: fresh floral scent
-top note: orange flower, grapefruit, citrus
-middle note: pink rose, sandalwood, soft amber
-base note: jasmine, vanilla, musk, orris

Color: The essence toner is colorless.

Texture: This essence toner has the same texture as a gel-like essence.

Helen's Thoughts: I had high hopes for this Essence Toner, so much so that I did not order a backup of my favorite toner. Now, I kind of regret that decision. This Essence Toner would have been great but it has several downsides for me. The biggest downside, as I have mentioned before, is its scent. The scent is strong. It has a mixture of multiple scents, which makes it seem more like a perfume than a toner. The second biggest downside is related to the toner's moisturizing effects. My skin is normal to dry, so I am always looking for hydrating toners. The Essence Toner feels moisturizing when applied, however, it is not deeply moisturizing. The toner also does not help products sink into the skin as fast as my favorite Innisfree toner. Finally, while the toner's moisturizing effects does last for a while, I found it is not as long lasting as my favorite Innisfree Olive Real toner.

The Nooni Spring Water Seed Essence Toner has some upsides though. When applied, the toner feels soothing and fresh. It contains some amazing extracts, like quinoa seeds, green tea, etc. to fortify the skin barrier and nourishes it. The toner is hydrating. It takes little time to absorb and does not leave behind any sticky feelings. The toner comes in a generous size, 350ml can last quite a long time. For its price, it is pretty great.

Pros:
-hydrates
-soothe
-nourishes
-inexpensive
-moisturizes
-generous size

Cons:
-strong fragrance, might not be suitable for everyone
-not deeply moisturizing, moisturizing effects are not long lasting

My Rating: ❤ ❤

Final Thoughts: The Nooni Spring Water Seed Essence Toner is a decent toner. I would not say it is perfect, but it is not horrible either. The biggest downside (and a personal one) is its scent. It does not smell bad, I am just not a fan of how strong it is. Other downsides, like its moisturizing effects are not long lasting or the toner is not deeply moisturizing are the reasons why this Nooni Toner is rated 4 hearts out of 5. The Essence Toner does have some amazing effects and for its price, it is worth it.

Would I purchase this in the future? Probably not. Even though the toner has a lot of amazing skincare properties, I just can not get over the strong scent. I am not a fan. I think I will finish this bottle and revert back to my favorite Innisfree toner. Do I think this Essence Toner is worth a try? It is hard to say. Scent is a personal thing. What might smell unpleasant or strong to one might smell perfectly fine to another. I think the scent information provided above can be a good indicator as to what this toner will smell like and give you an idea of whether you will like it or not. As for its skincare effects, it depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for a hydrating toner that is deeply moisturizing and can provide long lasting moisture, this might not be the best candidate. However, if you are looking for a hydrating toner that is soothing and fresh, that can fortify skin barriers and nourishes the skin. Then this Nooni Spring Water Seed Essence Toner is it.

  1. Thank you for this review! I've been trying to figure out which moisturizing toner to get next (then decided to try and skip this step altogether when summer arrives, and just use a first essence,) and it doesn't sound like this one is going to be it. :)
