Mise En Scene Perfect Repair Serum Review and DIY Hair Mask

Mise En Scene Perfect Repair Serum Review and DIY Hair Mask

Hey everyone, it's Helen!

I have been on the hunt for some amazing hair serums for a long time now. It's not that there aren't any amazing hair serums on the market, because there are, but rather that I just haven't found one that's right for me and my hair yet. Often times I'll find a hair serum that has amazing ingredients and works pretty good, but its scent just puts me off completely. Or I'll find a hair serum that smells amazing but it doesn't do half the jobs it promises to. For a while, I had thought that I would never find my perfect hair serum. That is, until I found the brand Mise En Scene and tried their hair serum.

I was introduced to this brand by my daughter because she loves it and thought I would too. At first I wasn't sure. I mean I've never even heard of the brand and there are hardly any reviews for it, could it really be amazing? However, my daughter urged me to try hers and even said she'd bet me $10. I didn't agree on the bet and I am glad I didn't because I ended up loving the hair treatment and serum I tried. So much so, that I went and bought my own.

Mise En Scene Perfect Repair Serum

In case you guys didn't know, this blog is written by my daughter and I. I know I haven't posted as much reviews recently as my daughter has. I've been busy and lazy, well mostly lazy, and just haven't gotten around to them. This post was supposed to go out last Friday, oops. I told my daughter I would post it out on Friday, so she doesn't have to post one of hers. However, something happened (my favorite TV show happened) and well, the rest is history. That's why we didn't have a post on Friday like we usually do. But hey, better late than never right? (Just say right!) Anyways, here's my review on the Mise En Scene Perfect Repair Serum.

My Thoughts: I love this hair serum. I love how soft my hair feels and how sleek it looks after I use this serum. Since it promises results in just 7 days, I did a 7 days test. The softness and natural shine was there for the 7 days, my hair didn't tangle either which is great. After 7 days, I couldn't tell visibly that my hair was strengthened or more elastic than before. Increased moisture and damage care were 2 others that are hard to check. However, I kept this test going on for a whole month and the results were amazing! The shine and softness I loved and see daily. There were less breakage and I hardly have any tangles. My hair, especially the ends, hardly ever feel dry, which means the moisturizing properties are working and I can style my hair without worrying abut the serum weighing my hair down! Perfect and the scent is good too.

The bottle for this Perfect Repair Serum might look small, but it really last a long time; or at least depending on your hair and how you use it. For example, my daughter has long hair, like the long to you butt it's time to cut your hair type of long (did you catch that hint my dear daughter? I will make an appointment at our hairdresser for you if you don't). Actually, I don't care for her hair length, whatever makes her happy you know? However, she's been wanting to get her hair cut before our vacation this summer but just haven't gotten around to do so. We always joke that by the time she decides which hairdresser to go to (we have 2 that we like a lot) her hair will be floor length.

Look at me, went on a tangent there about my daughter and her hair. Anyways, the point of that example is that she has really long hair and if she follows the instructions of the serum (which she doesn't, I will share below) than the serum won't last her a very long time. However, for me, who has not-as-long hair, it's a little pass my shoulder length (I am trying to grow it out a little more, slowly but surely), the serum would last longer.

DIY hair mask ingredients

There are two ways on how I use this Mise En Scene Repair serum. My daughter has her own way, which is different than mine, and I will share that below as well.

My Way #1 is to follow the instructions that came with the serum, sort of. I always dry my hair a little before I use this serum, so my hair is not super wet but just damp. I apply about 2 to 3 pumps of this serum evenly all over my damp hair and I do a mini scalp massage while I am at it. Then I leave my hair to dry on its own.

My Way #2 is what you see in the pictures above and below. I like to use this serum to make my own DIY hair mask. It only takes 2 ingredients, your favorite conditioner and a nourishing hair serum, in my case, the Mise En Scene Perfect Repair Serum. I just mix the 2 up in a small container about 30 minutes to an hour before I use it and leave it on my hair for about 30 minutes to an hour. Then wash off and done.

Now, as for my daughter, she only likes to use 1 pump of this serum at once and usually only on the ends of her hair. She'll roughly use whatever's left over on her hands to go over the rest of her hair but that's that.

My Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★
Since my daughter uses hearts to rate the products she reviews, I am going to use stars! This will be another way for you to distinguish between our reviews since we can't always start with 'Hey it's so-and-so'.

Final Thoughts: I absolutely love this hair serum. It works wonders on my no longer young and damaged hair. (I won't divulge my age and please do not ask. But let's just say that since my daughter, who also writes on this blog, is in her early 20s; I am not so young.) Anyways, I love that such a small bottle can last me quite a long time. There are so many amazing properties this hair serum has, plus it smells fantastic. The only small issue with this hair serum is that it is hard to find. Although Mise En Scene is a brand under Amore Pacific, which is the same company for IOPE, Etude House, Innisfree, O'Sulloc and so many more well known and not so well known brands, Mise En Scene products are still not readily available in the US yet. While Ebay and Amazon carries this serum and you can some times find it on other e-commerce websites, the brand itself is not as commonly available as some of Amore Pacific Corporation's other brands. I hope Amore Pacific will bring more Mise En Scene products to the states!

See you all at my next post!
