Memebox Pony Brown Bloom Box Vol. 2 Unboxing
Hey Dreamers and Creators!
It's almost the weekend! Do you have any fun plans? I know I will be staying in because I'm coming down with a light cold. However, I'll probably be playing with all the Pony makeup goodies I have to test it all out! I've been a fan of Pony for a while now and have loved her makeup videos. If you don't know, Pony is a makeup artist from Korea. She's quite popular on Youtube and is currently working as CL's (from 2NE1) makeup artist. She started her collaboration with Memebox last year and has since released a lot of makeup products like palettes, lip sticks, nail polishes, etc. After trying out her first palette and some nail polishes, I was determined to try more (because I really liked what I tried). So, When Pony released her season 3 line with Memebox, I was ooohing and aahhing over everything.
I find that sometimes, the best value of products are in Memeboxes (especially when there's a discount code)! So when Pony's season 3 line came out, I didn't jump the gun to get them. I waited because I knew Memebox would release beauty boxes with Pony's line of products. Sure enough, they did, and that's when I bought all the goodies. If you are new to Memebox, they are a beauty box company based in US, China, and South Korea. They sell non-subscription boxes and Korean beauty products via their online website. They also sell their own line of cosmetics and skin care products as well. If you check my Memebox tag on the blog, you'll see all the Memebox boxes and products I've reviewed.
Anyways, let's get to know the goodies that came in this box!
Memebox Hydrogel Meme Mask
1 mask, $3
Product Description: A hydrogel mask to moisturize and heal the skin. It's nutrient-rich and works to address skin concerns such as acne, wrinkles, dark spots, and scars. The mask is rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids. It also contains baobab tree seed extract to tighten pores and refine the skin. To use, cleanse and tone the skin first. Take the mask out of its packaging and apply it on the face. Remove the mask after 15 to 20 minutes and continue with the rest of the routine.
My Thoughts: I've gotten Memebox's hydrogel masks in boxes I've purchased in the past and I have been saving them. I can be picky when it comes to hydrogel masks. So, I didn't know if I'd like these or not. I know a lot of people rave about them, so I do want to try it. When I do try, I'll probably write a review, but for now, it's going to sit in my mask basket with the rest of the Meme masks.
Pony Easy Mix Block Blusher
Product Description: A beautiful multi-color blush palette that's perfect for highlighting, contouring, and defining the apples of the cheeks. It is formulated with natural and gentle ingredients, making it easy to apply. Plus, its silky formula will look fabulous on the cheeks. The palette contains the colors: #1 Baby Pink, #2 Gracey Pink, #3 Warm Pink, and #4 Indie Pink. To use, apply along the apples of the cheeks by using a dense powder brush.
My Thoughts: I have mixed feelings about this blush. On one hand, the colors look beautiful and I don't mind using it. However, the lasting power isn't that great, the payoff isn't too awesome, and what's up with the product description? Memebox describe this product as a 4 in 1 and can be used to highlight and contour the cheeks. While highlight is a maybe (although I might not use this to highlight), I just can't see using this blush palette to contour. Maybe I'm missing something here, however, it's just a bit odd.
Anyways, I was more sad to find that the lasting power and payoff isn't that great. Don't get me wrong, it's not super horrible, just not as good as I hoped. I was kind of hoping the blush colors would look as beautiful as in Pony's promo pictures. However, in reality, the colors are not as vibrant. I still use this palette and like to either mix all 4 colors together to use or mix #3 warm pink with #4 indie pink to use.
Pony Shine Easy Glam 3
6.5g, $18, #01 Brown Bloom
Product Description: A quad palette with warm and earthy brown-hued eyeshadow shades that is perfect for year round use. It's silky formula makes the shadows easy to use and long lasting. The Brown Bloom quad includes the shades: Glam Nude Beige, Glam Fair Brown, Shine Brown, and Shine Midnight Brown.
My Thoughts: This palette and the lipstick were the reasons why I wanted to purchase the Pony Brown Bloom box in the first place. I love the Pony products I've tried so far. They aren't perfect, but the colors are beautiful and I would wear them daily. So when Pony's season 3 products came out I really wanted it. Season 3 has 3 different types of palettes: the Brown Bloom, Pink Bloom, and Orange Bloom. I already have the Pink Bloom palette and now I have the Broom Bloom. Just need to get the Orange Bloom and I'll be set! Will do a review on the palettes in the future!
$5, #01 Night
Product Description: A retractable gel eyeliner that is waterproof. It glides on smoothly and delivers highly pigmented results. The formula is nice and long lasting. The eyeliner has a smudge tip at the end as well as a sharpener.
My Thoughts: I feel like I always have so much eyeliners. Most of them come from mystery boxes I purchase or gifts from family and friends. So, when I saw this eyeliner in the box, I wasn't really excited for it. #01 Night is basically a black eyeliner. I have heard good things about Memebox's eyeliners. However, I haven't decided if I am going to try it out or if I'll pass it along to someone else.
Pony Blossom Lipstick
4.5g, $12, #01 Rose Garden
Product Description: Rose Garden is a muted blood orange shade that gives off a feminine and sophisticated feel when worn. The lipstick is formulated with white flower complex, honey and shea butter to keep the lips moisturized and supple. The Pony Blossom lipstick in Rose Garden is nicely pigmented and has a semi-matte finish.
My Thoughts: I really wanted to try some of Pony's season 3 products and this lipstick is one of them. I was waiting for Memebox to come out with boxes containing Pony's season 3 products, so when they did, I was super happy. I really like the rose red color with a hint of orange. It's beautiful and I can't wait to try out different lip looks with this lipstick.
It's Skin Mini Bebe Mist
55ml, $8, Shining Apple
Product Description: A mini mist that's travel friendly and great for daily use. It can nourish and refresh the skin, while hydrating it. To use, spray liberally 10 inches away from the face.
My Thoughts: I was never too fond of the mist trend until early this year. I tried Innisfree's Canola Honey Jelly mist and really liked how refreshing it felt on my face during the day. After that, I was open to try new mists and have been testing out different ones to find the best for my skin type. I have seen these It's Skin Mini Bebe mists around for a while now but they aren't on my list of mists I want to try. However, since I got it now, I might as well test it out. Will probably review it later!
★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆
Final Thoughts: I think this turned out to be a great box. This box originally cost $35, however, when I made the purchase Memebox had a 30% off coupon code. So I got this box for $24.5, which is an awesome price! The Pony Brown Bloom Box Vol. 2 contains 6 products. Two of which are the Brown Bloom palette and the Pony Bloom lipstick which I really wanted. It's also got other products, some of which I've already tried and others I haven't. Overall, I am happy I got this box and can't wait to play around with the products I haven't try yet!
Until next time and dream big!
