The Magical Products That Keeps My Lips Soft and Moisturized AKA My Lip Care Routine

My Lip Care Routine
Hey Dreamers and Creators!

How do you care for your dry and/or chapped lips? Do you have a routine or is there one magical product that cures all for you? For me, it's a simple 3 step routine that keeps my lips baby soft and moisturized. It works wonders for my lips and I can wear my lipsticks and tints without worrying about it looking odd due to chapped and dry lips.

My Routine consists of 3 simple products. A wash-off lip mask (or scrub), a hydrogel lip mask, and finally lip balms. I usually do my lip care routine on the weekends, so I can catch up on my favorite shows while caring for my lips. The first 2 steps are the wash-off lip mask and hydrogel lip mask. The wash-off lip mask helps to remove any dead skin while the hydrogel lip mask provides nutrients and deep moisture to my lips. Lip balms are used as the maintenance product over the week. This routine usually keeps my lips soft and moisturized for a week, sometime longer.

MD.Aida Butter Cream Lip Mask

I start off by cleansing my lips and applying my wash-off lip mask. I'd do a light massage on my lips and leave the lip mask on my lips for 5 to 10 minutes. After that, I'll wipe the mask off with a tissue before washing it with lukewarm water. On the rare occasions when my lips get really chapped and dry because I didn't care for them (cause you know we can have those lazy days), I'd either use a DIY sugar lip scrub or use a toothbrush with my lip mask. This works to take off the stubborn dead skin and preps my lips for the next step in my routine. The wash-off lip mask I am currently using is the MD.Aida Butter Cream Lip Mask pictured above. It works really well for me and a little goes a long way so its small container can actually last longer than expected.

Pure Smile Choosy Lip Masks in Purple Pearl and Pink Pearl
The hydrogel lips masks are probably my favorite part of the routine because my lips are always baby soft, moisturized, and a bit plumped after I use them. There are tons of different lip masks on the market, but my favorites so far are the Pure Smile Choosy Lip Masks in Purple Pearl and Pink Pearl pictured above. I have a large stash of them for my lip care routine and while I have other lip masks I want to try, I often come back to these.

It's good to note that when you have these lips masks on you can't talk or eat or drink. While the instructions suggests to leave the lip mask on for 5 to 30 minutes, I usually leave them on for nearing an hour. I found that leaving them on for an hours does 3 things to my lips. It adds a bit of plumpness, it makes my lips extra soft, and it helps to deeply moisturize my lips. I've always had the best results with leaving it on for almost an hour, so I just stick to it.

It's Skin Macaron Lip balm in Strawberry and Strawberry shaped lip balm
After I remove the lip mask, it's time for lip balm maintenance care. Actually, the rest of the week would be maintenance care until the weekend comes again. I apply the lip balms whenever I feel like, to add extra moisture to my lips throughout the week. The lip balm is like the seal on top that keeps in all the nutrients and moisture the hydrogel lip mask provided for the lips. It not only seals in the nutrients and moisture but it also adds a layer of its own moisture to further help to keep the lips soft and moisturized.

The lip balms I am currently using are the It's Skin Macaron Lip Balm in Strawberry and the Strawberry lip balm pictured above. I prefer my Macaron one over the strawberry one because I find the It's Skin Macaron lip balm feels more moisturizing and cares for my lips better.

That's it for my lip care routine. It's really simple and works wonders for my lips. If you have chapped and/or dry lips, you could give this routine a try. Maybe it can help your lips too. You can also try out lip treatments, which are really popular these day. The treatments are usually worn overnight (some during the day) and they help to moisturize and nourish the lips.
