Korean Beauty Haul via KoreanBuddy

Korean Beauty Haul via KoreanBuddy

Hey Dreamers and Creators!

Last week, our Korean Beauty haul from KoreanBuddy came in and we were super excited. We got a mix of skincare and makeup goodies as well as a diffuser set (which has nothing to do with beauty but it sure looks pretty). This was our first time using a shopping service, so we were a bit nervous. However, Chris (the owner of KoreanBuddy) was super helpful and answered all of our questions. So, we wanted to share the goods we got as well as our experience using a shopping service for the first time.

We've read about shopping services and always wanted to try one out. So when we learned about KoreanBuddy, we decided to check them out. They had a promotion for the month of January where they wouldn't charge any commission. So we took advantage of that and gave the shopping service a try. Using a shopping service is easy. It's finding the products that's hard. We looked at several Korean beauty shopping sites to find the products we wanted. It was a bit difficult because neither of us are fluent in Korean and Google Translate doesn't work on every site. Plus, if you know Google Translate, you'll know that what it translates doesn't always make sense. So, we had a bit of an issue there. Then, there was the issue of determining which site charged for local shipping. We were careful on this one because local shipping can cost a bunch if you aren't careful. Finally, shipping is charged via weight and we wanted to take advantage of the shipping weight. For example, shipping is a bit over $18 for packages under 2kg. If an order was 1.6kg it would cost $18, if it was 1.9kg it would cost $18 as well. So, it makes sense to take advantage of the shipping one would pay.

All this planning took a lot longer than we though it would and we came out with a bunch of questions. Chris at KoreanBuddy answered them all and even allowed us to add onto our order so we could make the weight worth well. For our first shopping service experience, it was pretty great. Anyways, here's our haul!
Moomin Diffuser Set

Moomin Diffuser Set

Helen: "This was a spur of the moment purchase. We came across this diffuser set while looking for something else and fell in love with the cute Moomin design. Plus we love diffusers, so we decided to get it. The set came with a sachet for closets or drawers. It also came with a cute Moomin bag."
Tonymoly Magic Food Mango Hand Butter and Liptone Lip Care Sticks

Tonymoly Magic Food Mango Hand Butter (2016 Special Gift Set)

Michelle: "I like adorably packaged hand creams. I actually have a lot now, it's almost like a collection. So, when I saw this set I was like 'heck yes'! The set was a promotional offer. It actually costs the same as a single hand cream, so I got 2 for the price of 1 (yay). I'm already using the mango hand cream and I love the scent!"

Tonymoly Liptone Lip Care Sticks (02, 03)

Michelle: "Aside from hand creams I also like lip balms and tint balms a lot. (Also starting a collection.) I saw these lip balms while I was looking to add another product to the Tonymoly order so I won't get charged a local shipping fee. They looked like they could be great and they had a 1+1 deal going on, so I took a chance on 2 of them."

Oseque Showking Lip & Cheek

Oseque Showking Lip & Cheek

Helen and Michelle: "We were both interested in this multi-use product and decided to get one to try. Oseque is a new brand for us, so we can't wait to try its products. According to the product page, this Lip & Cheek product has tint gloss for the lips and gel pudding for the cheek. The gel pudding can also be used as an eyeshadow. So essentially this is a 3 in 1 product."

Chosungah 22 Dual Lip Tint & Gloss (Lace, Velvet, Cashmere)

Chosungah 22 Dual Lip Tint & Gloss (Lace, Velvet, Cashmere)

Helen and Michelle: "We've heard a lot of good things about the Chosungah 22 Dual Lip Tint & Gloss and have been wanting to try them for a while. So, we decided to order it with our K-Beauty haul. We got 3 of the 4 choices. We would have gotten them all, but Chiffon was sold out at the time of our order. If all goes well with the 3 that we currently have, we'll definitely go and pick up Chiffon."

Innisfree Glow Tint Stick (#5) and Bracelet Gift

Innisfree Glow Tint Stick (#5) and Bracelet Gift

Michelle: "I've been eyeing the Innisfree Glow Tint Stick since its preview came out. There are 10 colors in total, but honestly, I probably wouldn't wear all the colors. I ended up with #5 because it looked like the color I would wear the most. When I purchased the #5 Innisfree Glow Tint Stick, there was a promotion going on. If you buy 1 Glow Tint Stick you can get a bracelet for free. There were 3 bracelet choices and I chose the Green Tea leaf with gray-black string."

Demeter Dual Perfume Tint

Demeter Dual Perfume Tint

Helen and Michelle: "We first saw this product on Beauty Bible (a Korean beauty show) and thought it was interesting. We did want to get 1 to try because it looks neat. A 2 in 1 perfume and lip tint product sounds very convenient and useful. This product wasn't on the top of our list, however, when we found it we decided to get it. Hopefully, we'll like the product."

Pure Smile Choosy Lip Masks and Snail Lip Treatment in Honey

Pure Smile Choosy Lip Masks

Helen and Michelle: "Lips masks are just as important as facial masks for us. They can moisturize and soften the lips while nourishing it at the same time. We would have bought more, however, we still have some left in our stash. So we only purchased a few."

Pure Smile Snail Lip Treatment (Honey)

Michelle: "I have been wanting to try Pure Smile's Snail Lip Treatments for ages. I really wanted to try the strawberry kind. However, this lip treatment lip is now discontinued, so they became harder and harder to find. I ended up settling for the honey one. A lot of people rave about this lip treatment, so I hope it works well."

Secret Key Sweet Glam Tint Glow, Lip gloss, and Chubby Jelly Tint Pack

Secret Key Sweet Glam Tint Glow

Helen and Michelle: "We read somewhere that Secret Key's Sweet Glam Tint Glow lipsticks are dupes of Dior Addict Lip Glow. So we got 2 to try. They even have really similar packaging. We'll definitely compare the 2 brands and share our thoughts and swatches in the future."

Secret Key Sweet Glam Tint Lip Gloss

Michelle: "I don't really use lip gloss, but somehow I decided to get this one. I'll probably test it out and decide from there."

Secret Key Chubby Jelly Tint Pack

Michelle: "This is my third lip tattoo and I mainly got it to compare with the other 2 I already own. This is a practice makes perfect product. By that I mean, it's going to take a couple of uses to get it right. Lip Tattoo will work but it can seem like a hassle for some. Personally, I like the process and I always make sure my lips are soft and moisturized before using it. Since the lip tattoo is a peel off product, chapped lips and dry areas can hinder the experience."

Banobagi Vita Genic Jelly Masks (Relaxing, Hydrating, Lifting, and Whitening)

Banobagi Vita Genic Jelly Masks (Relaxing, Hydrating, Lifting, and Whitening)

Helen: "Masks are a must have in my skincare routine these days. Like my daughter, my wishlist of masks just keeps on growing. These are some of the masks I have been wanting to try. I was drawn into the mask's texture, which is supposed to be jelly like. The Banobagi Vita Genic masks comes with 4 types and I got a couple of each to try. All 4 types of masks promises to provide anti-aging care and brightening effects, while adding on it's own special skincare effects. So, I am looking forward to that."

Freebies! We hear it all the time K-Beauty is kind of known for giving out a lot of samples or gifts with purchases. Looks like we weren't so lucky this time. Although, we were mainly trying to make the free shipping more than getting freebies. We were actually afraid of getting too much freebies because it could off balance our weight estimate. Luckily, it turned out okay.

Anyways, here we have the Secret Key Milk Whipping Hand Cream that came with our Secret Key order. We also have some Pure Smile Hand Gel (hand sanitizer) and Point Pads in Guava that came with our Pure Smile order. We also got a bracelet, which came with our Innisfree order. Having looked at the sites, it seem like the more you order the more freebies you can get. So it does make sense.

Okay, that's all for our haul. We don't think we are going to haul much anytime soon. We definitely have a lot of products in our stash that we need to get through first. However, we are excited to try all of them!

  1. What a great haul, lots of fun stuff to try. I can't believe that lip treatment is discontinued, that was a great product!

    1. Thanks! I can't wait to try the lip treatment~ It's sad that they discontinued them because I've heard so many great things about them. However, it seems Pure Smile has come out with a new line of Night Lip Packs. Although the flavors aren't as exciting as these ones.

  2. Ooh, the Honey Snail lip treatment is being discontinued?! I have wanted it forever but since it's pricier than what I normally pay for, well, essentially a chapstick-like product, I have kept putting off purchasing it. Now I guess I'll have to grab a tube (or two.) Curious to hear if it works as well for you as it seems to work for many.

Lovely haul, by the way! :)

    1. Yeah, that's what I heard so I grab one to try asap lol. I agree, it can be a bit pricey, but if it works well (and I hope it does) then it's probably worth it. ^^
