Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Lotion Review

Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Lotion

Hey Dreamers and Creators!

Last month I was sick, and when I get sick my skin can gets super sensitive. So I have an emergency skincare routine to care for my skin during those times. One of the products in my emergency skincare routine is this Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Lotion. I use it with the toner from the same line, as they are both gentle on my skin and they provide the basic skincare needs. Read on to learn more about the Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Lotion.

Packaging: Simple and Eco-Friendly is the way to go for Innisfree when it comes to their packaging. I like it. The lotion has a twist-off lid. It's a runny lotion, so you can pour it out easily. When the lotion is new, it also comes with an aluminum seal, see picture below. If you purchase the lotion separately, it should come with a box. However, I purchased mine in a set, so it didn't come with a separate box for each product.

Scent: Like the Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Skin (Toner), the lotion has that signature Innisfree Green Tea/herbal/floral scent. I personally like the scent and I'm used to it. However, the scent is more than mild and definitely noticeable.

Color: The lotion is milky white in color.

Texture: The lotion is runny but it's thicker than serums.

Michelle Thoughts: If Innisfree ever discontinued this product, I would be so sad. If they ever decide to change its formula, it better be a damn fantastic upgrade, or I would be so sad. This lotion has been a great product in my emergency skincare routine. It's not the only lotion/cream/gel that I use or like throughout the year. However, it is the only lotion my skin can handle when it's super duper sensitive. It's not often that my skin becomes super duper sensitive, but it can happen and it happens often when I'm sick. So now whenever I get sick, I just switch over to my emergency skincare routine. Better safe than sorry right?

Despite the medium to strong fragrance, which I am used to now, the lotion always feels super soothing on my skin. I've tossed the ingredients list into Cosdna before to check and it's almost clear. PEG-100 Stearate has a potential of level 1 acne trigger and Carbomer has a potential of being a level 1 irritant. However, neither causes issues for my skin so that's good. The lotion is formulated with a slew of extracts to help heal and nourish the skin. I have combo to oily skin type and the lotion feels moisturizing enough as a day time moisturizer year round. However, while it is moisturizing at night during the hotter months, it's not moisturizing enough during the cooler months. That's why I have a sleeping pack in my emergency skincare kit as well.

Like the toner from Innisfree's Green Tea Balancing line, this lotion isn't my dream lotion either. It doesn't offer everything I look for in a lotion, but it does its job. It does what it promises to do and most importantly it's gentle. That's why it's perfect for my emergency skincare routine. Maybe one day I'll find my dream lotion, but for now, this Innisfree lotion works well in the emergency skincare routine.

Final Thoughts: This has been a standard in my emergency skincare routine. I purchase the set from Innisfree every year to replenish my stock. My skin enjoys it and it does its job. While it's not my dream lotion, it is gentle and that's why I keep it on hand for when my skin becomes super duper sensitive. The lotion is also inexpensive, especially if you get it in the set, and it lasts for a long time too.

Would I repurchase this in the future? Yes. I have tried various lotions/gels/creams over the years and while I have my favorites, none of them were soothing enough for my skin when it becomes super duper sensitive. Don't get me wrong, those lotions/gels/creams offer a lot of skincare benefits and are great when my skin isn't super duper sensitive. However, when my skin becomes super duper sensitive, only 1 lotion has been able to calm it and that's this Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Lotion. Do I think it's worth a try? Yes, I do! It's worth it to get a sample or travel-size to try first, in case you don't like the scent. However, if you are looking for a lotion to help sooth sensitive skin, than this is it.
