Dearberry Toc Toc Blusher in Moon Shine Review

Dearberry Toc Toc Blusher in Moon Shine Review
Hey Dreamers and Creators!

Ever come across a product in your stash that you just don't know what to do with it? I have. They are usually products that say they will do one thing but ends up not doing that. That's how I felt when I tried this Toc Toc Blusher that I got in one of the beauty boxes I purchased. Initially, I thought I would like it because the packaging is really cute and the way the puff is set up seems to make the application easy. However, after trying it out I discovered a whole world of problems. There are many reasons why this blusher isn't what it seems. However, before we get to that, let's get to know this product a bit.

build-in puff

My Thoughts: I knew I couldn't use this as a blusher the moment I saw its color. I think the product's name made it misleading, it should have been named toc toc highlighter instead or something. I do wish I got the colored blusher version instead but oh well. Even as a highlighter, this product wouldn't be a good choice. It's just a bit way too sparkly and it also adds a layer of white. The powder doesn't really blend well either and it's often too noticeable and unnatural to use.

At first I thought the build-in puff and mirror were very cute and efficient. However, as I tried this product out I realized multiple issues with them. Issue #1, not travel friendly. I have tried to keep it in my makeup pouch and the powder leaks out after just 1 day of travel. I suspect it's because the powder comes out of the puff and the upper lid is not air-tight enough to keep it in. I also worried that the mirror might break if I accidentally drop it. Issue #2, the mirror. While it's nice that they included a mirror, that small thing is not really useful at all. It's more for decoration. Issue #3, the puff. It seem ingenious to build the puff into product so the powder can just fall though a hole and right onto the puff for application. However, the issues comes with the fact that powder comes out of all sides of the puff. So, I might be trying to apply the product from the center of the puff, it instead comes out of the left side.

I haven't been able to figure out what to do with this product. Usually, when a product doesn't work for me, I try to find ways to use it else where. Like an overly fragranced eye cream as neck cream, etc. However, I just don't know what I'd do with this one. You guys have any ideas?
how the powder travels to the puff

Pros:
- build-in puff and mirror

Cons:
- too sparkly as a highlighter
- powder doesn't blend well, doesn't look natural
- not travel friendly
- puff applicator has flaws
- mirror too small to use
highlighter powder

My Rating: ❤

Final Thoughts: I can't speak for the other colors of this line but this Moon Shine Toc Toc Blusher needs a redevelopment. It's a product with many great ideas, like the build-in puff. However, it lacked in execution and created problems instead. The powder was also an issue as it doesn't blend well and doesn't look natural after application. The sparkles in it are also a bit too sparkly as well. The slight white-cast it leaves is also an issue. Overall, this Toc Toc Blusher in Moon Shine just didn't work for me.

Would I repurchase in the future? Nope. Do I think it's worth a try? Nope. There are plenty of highlighters in the market. It's best to save your money for 1 that works well instead of spending it on this.

Until next time!
