CODE Glokolor N. All-UID Foundation Review

A few years ago BB creams took the beauty world by storm and introduced itself as a new miracle product that not only offers coverage but also provides SPF, moisturizing properties, a healthy glow, tone and evening out skin textures. So when the beauty world took a step forward and introduced cushion compacts, beauty lovers jumped at the new, evolved form.

Today I will be reviewing the CODE Glokolor N. All-UID Foundation (Meduim, 20.5) that I got in the Get K-Beauty Box which I bought not long ago. The Get K-Beauty Box was only $40 + $2.99 shipping for 7 items and they are worth over $110. I was really excited about this product as it is my first ever cushion foundation. I've been holding off on buying the lot since I had a lot of BB creams and foundations to go through.

**Tips on applying and layering at the end!

CODE Glokolor N. All-UID Foundation Packaging

Here's what the packaging looks like, pretty neat I think. It's simple and to the point. It looks bulky here because the product came with 1 refill, which is awesome!

The left picture includes descriptions, directions and ingredients. The right, is in Korean, however it includes images on how to change out the foundation fillers. This cushion foundation have 5 makeup effects which are sleek finishes, moisturizing properties, tones the skin, glowing effects, and great, natural coverage. The moisturizing properties comes from the Nordic Berry water and the natural cover effect is from multiplex polymer. Plus, this cushion foundation have SPF 30 PA++.

Here's what the compact and the refill looks like. I love that the refill comes with another 'fitting puff'. It's got a seal inside so the product won't dry up.

As you can see from the images above, the compact is quite bulky. So I'm not sure if I'll want to bring it everywhere with me as it's not so convenient. It is, however, better than trying to bring a tube of BB cream everywhere. I like that the packaging is simple, let's look inside.

To the left is what the inside of the cushion foundation looks like. Simple and cute, I like it. It comes with a mini mirror which is useful. The picture on the right shows you the seal on the product. Which tells you that the arrow is pointing to the button which you press to dispense the foundation.

Once the seal sticker comes off you are left with this. (The 'fitting puff' is on the right in the picture.) I find the design on the inside quite adorable. If you look closely, you can see the little holes in the cushion compact forms a star. Pretty neat huh? It was one of the reason why I wanted the box. What can I say, I'm a sucker for cute and creative things.

You can see here that the foundation is coming out of the tiny holes. The first time I used it, I had to press the button 8 times before any foundation came out. But after that it comes out with just 1 press. I also love that how hard you press the button also controls how much foundation comes out of it.

Testing CODE Glokolor Foundation

Here's what the foundation looks like before I blend it out. It looks light at first and I was afraid that it would not blend well with my skin tone. (Even though I'm light in most foundations). I was happy that once I blended it out with the puff it worked out nicely. (picture below)

My Rating: ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

Testing CODE Glokolor Foundation 2

My first cushion foundation did not disappoint me. The refill that came with it was definitely a plus! It lost a heart in my books for two reasons. First is due to the bulky packaging. Second is that it's got a floral, perfume like scent that's a bit strong when you first apply the product. It doesn't smell bad or anything and the smell does lighten soon after.

CODE Glokolor N. All-UID Foundation after a couple of uses

12 Hour Test:
Did the 12 hours test with the CODE Glokolor N. All-UID Foundation and the results were wonderful. This product doesn't smear or move around. It stayed on all day (12 hours) and I only got a little oily on the t-zone area by the end of the day. It's got medium coverage which is enough for me. You can layer the product for more coverage without making it look cakey. I find it best to apply a hydrating primer before I apply the foundation.

**Tip on applying and layering
Best way to apply this foundation is to only use half of the puff when applying. This allows you better control of the puff and where to concentrate the force when patting on the foundation. (It also allows little to no absorption into the puff.) A little goes a long way for this foundation so there's no need to cake it on. To layer, simply take a small amount of foundation and pat rapidly onto the targeted areas. Oh, and if the puff ever gets too gunky, you can always wash it.

P.S. If you have dry skin or feel that your skin needs an extra boost of moisture that day, you can add a little moisture cream to the flat dispenser area and mix it in with the foundation before applying. It'll help greatly!

  1. I got a BornTree compact like this in one of my Memeboxes but it looked so intimidating I didn't end up using it. I think I should get it out and try it at least for the fun of it! #kbeautybloghop

  2. Great review!!! But... Same as with VDL "cushions", this one is not a true cushion. I actually prefer the spongey cushion to this. This is more of a pump dispenser that is flat. My favorite cushion at the moment is Hanyul Luminant Cushion.
The color is perfect for me, and I love how nice my skin looks even after I wash it off. My number 2 is Iope Air Cushion RX. Number 3 it's a battle between Hera UV Mist Cushion and sum37 Dazzling. I love the color of Hera but sum37 is better for me skincarewise.

    1. Ooo I shall look into those. I actually like the flat dispenser because I can mix my light moisturizer cream with the foundation before applying. When I do that it feels super moist on my skin.
