Top 5 Korean Beauty Trends For Winter 2014

Beauty trends are forever changing and while some stay trendy year after year, many change seasonally. Korea has become one of the lead beauty countries in the world. With their introductions of BB creams, snail creams, and more, their style and trends are constantly changing. What are the top 5 trends for winter 2014 in Korea? Let's find out!

Top 5 Korean Beauty Trends For Winter 2014

Innisfree 8 solutions kitInnisfree eco friendly

Organic Beauty and Eco Beauty Trend
Organic beauty products have been big in Korea for years. They are products that contain organic and natural ingredients. Most follow the 5 free rule which means they do not contain parabans, mineral oils, synthetics colorants, animal-originated ingredients, and imidazolidinyl urea. Eco-friendly products became a big trend as well. Companies that make organic beauty products are coming up with ways to make their product packaging Eco-friendly, or even make the products themselves Eco-friendly. An example of this is Innisfree. Their product packaging and even sample packaging are Eco-friendly. The packaging in the picture above is from one of their Solutions Kit and it can be made into little storage drawers. The instructions are on their Youtube.

Cranberry Red and Merlot Purple Lip Color Trend
The 'IT' lip color this fall is Merlot Purple, it's also a trending color for fashion as well. The color was inspired from Merlot wines whose color is that of a dark redish purple. YSL, Chanel, It's Skin, and many more offer such color. This lip color can be worn for a sexy beauty look or it can be toned down to create a cute gradation look. Of course, Red never goes out of style and this fall Cranberry Red is stealing the show. ElleGirl I Say Tint  You Say Gloss is an perfect example of this and so is Miss Age Essential Lip Rouge!
Rose sheet mask
Rose Beauty Trend
Roses have been used in skincare since the beginning of time. The Queen of beauty, Cleopatra, was a big fan of them and included them in many of her beauty regimes. Roses are known for its great vitamin contents and are good for skin moisture. It can add liveliness to the skin and help the skin regenerate. Roses also have properties that are great for anti-aging as well. The most popular rose in Korea for beauty this winter is Damask Rose. Renowned for its beauty and sweet scent, this rose is native to Bulgaria. It's commonly harvested to make rose oil and rose water. The rose petals are also edible and can be found to flavor food, used in teas, or as a garnish. Rose sheet masks are very popular right now and one of my favorites is by Innisfree (picture above). Aside from sheet masks, there's also cleansing oils, toners, hand creams, and many more.

Soft Smokey Makeup Trend
The smokey eye style never truly goes out of style. Instead, it evolves as seasons change. The Soft Smokey eye look is an evolved form of the dark smokey eye. Instead of using blacks, Soft Smokey uses browns. It makes the smokey eye makeup look softer to fit the wintery times, yet still adds its edge. One of the many popular palette to create the soft smokey look is this one by Pony who is a famous Korean beauty guru. However, something as simple as the Missha palette can also create a soft smokey look. Pair it with some brown eyeliners for the perfect finish.

Orchid Color Trend
Orchid colors are the IT colors for 2014. From eye makeup, to lips, to fashion and more, these colors complement most skin tones. One of my favorites have to be the Clio Gelpresso Pencil Gel liners, a mini set that features the colors of 2014, Orchids. If your opting for a single orchid eyeliner, try this one by Memebox.

Until next time and dream big!

    1. Glad you got the rose box. How do you like it? It was one of the boxes I kind of wish I got but didn't. It's got the Etude House rose hand cream which I am especially jelly of.

  5. I wish I could tolerate the smell of roses! There are so many awesome kbeauty products that are made with rose that I miss out on! I love the orchid color trend as well as the purple/wine lips. I just saw pictures of Dara from 2NE1 wearing a gorgeous purple lip shade, so if she's wearing it, it's clearly a big deal in Korea! Thanks so much for this fun post! #kbeautybloghop
