Sample Saturday: Nooni Snowflake Cleanser Review

Sample Saturday: Nooni Snowflake Cleanser
Hey Dreamers and Creators!

Welcome to the first Sample Saturday post! Are you excited? For this Sample Saturday, I'm reviewing a product that came as a deluxe sample, so I had enough to subject it to my long patch testings. Anyways, let get to it!

Double cleanse has been an important step in my skincare routine for a long time now. It's a way to thoroughly cleanse off dirt, impurities, sunscreen, makeup, and excess sebum off my face without striping it. For me, it's a crucial step, as it sets the face up for the rest of the skincare routine. So it can absorb in all the toner, serums, cream etc. that I might put on my face to nourish it over night.

Double cleanse generally comes in 2 steps: an oil cleanser and a foaming cleanser. Finding the right cleansers for the job is just as important as the cleanse itself. You want something that can cleanse off those impurities without striping the skin and you don't want something that might irritate your skin and so on. My favorite cleansing sherbet at the moment (that I've been using for a long time now) is a balm like cleanser that turns to oil when applied to the skin. I haven't done a review for it yet, but it will come! Anyways, not too long ago, Memebox sent over a deluxe sample of their new Nooni Snowflake Cleanser (Memebox's new house brand product). I was excited to test it out and thought I'd share my findings with you guys.

(this is a deluxe sample)

Product Description: A cleansing balm, oil and milk all in one. This unique sherbet cleanser changes its texture as you cleanse so you can enjoy the benefits of a cleansing balm, oil, and milk. The Nooni Snowflake cleanser is formulated with Jeju spring water that works to promotes vitality and elasticity of the skin. It's also formulated with ingredients like shea butter, citrus peel extract, and lotus flower extract to keep the skin moisturized and supple.

To Use: Scoop out the desired amount of cleanser and apply it over the face. As you spread, the sherbet cleanser turns into an oil cleanser to help dissolve stubborn makeup, sunblock, and oil based impurities like sebum. Finally wet the hands and massage once more to emulsify the oil, turning it into a cleansing milk to finish the cleansing process. Rinse off with lukewarm water after and follow up with the second step of the double cleanse routine.

Nooni Snowflake cleanser packaging
Packaging: Nooni cleanser follows a pink and white color palette. The deluxe sample looks pretty much the same as the full size, just smaller. The product comes with information about it, unfortunately, it's mostly in Korean. Since Memebox is an US based company, they should have made an English version of this product, even if it was formulated/created by the Korean based company. Anyways, the product comes with a bright magenta pink lid with descriptions in the same color. The manufacturing and expiration dates can be found on the bottom of the box package. The product does have a white inner protective lid, although for the deluxe sample it's a pretty flimsy lid that is not secure. It might be different for the full size.

Scent: The Snowflake cleanser has a light floral body lotion scent to it. It's kind of sweet and for me it isn't a bad scent.

Texture: This cleansing sherbet is a lot firmer than other cleansing sherbet I've tried before. When I stuck my spare spatula in, it felt a bit crisp at first. However, once massaged in, its oil form feels pretty similar to other sherbet to oil cleansers.

Colors: The Nooni Snowflake cleanser is white in color and when it's massaged it turns into a clear oil cleanser that can be a bit opaque.

My Thoughts: I was truly excited to test this new cleansing sherbet out. I've always put my cleansing products through my toughest products to see how well they can remove them without striping my skin and making it feel super dry. The toughest product in my stash happens to be a lip tint. Although I always like to use a separate eye/lip makeup cleanser instead of my oil cleanser to cleanser my eye/lip makeup. (It's a force of habit really.) However, since this cleaners claims it can cleanse all makeup, I'm will put it to the test and see.

testing, all the hard makeup to be removed

Here you are seeing a variety of lip products (red is lip tint, orange is lip crayon, and there a bit of nude gloss under the red), eye products (blue eyeliner, black mascara, brown eyeshadow), foundation, and blush.

I applied a fair amount of the Snowflake cleanser as you can see above and started massaging. The first to come off were the eyeshadow, foundation, blush, gloss, lip crayon, and blue eyeliner. The mascara took a bit more massaging but the lip tint just would not come off. (At least I know I have a super long lasting lip tint).

On a side note, I like that this oil feels thick. Oil cleansers that feels thin always take a lot more massaging than cleansers that feels thick, so I was happy that this was on the thicker side, so it could melt away most of my makeup fast.
the Nooni Snowflake cleanser had a hard time removing the lip tint

After massaging for a while with no luck of the tint coming off much more than it already has, I decided to emulsify the oil, to see if that will help. As you can see in the picture below, the back of my hand is all milky. I massaged some more here but after a while, the tint just seems like a lost cause. So I washed the milky cleanser off.

emulsified the oil cleanser

As you can see, there's still a bit of the lip tint left of my hand. So while, this cleanser is great at removing most of the makeup, it failed at removing the toughest one. I was able to remove the remaining lip tint off easily with my favorite eye/lip makeup remover

I will say that this cleanser did a pretty good job. I was a bit sad that it didn't cleanse away my toughest lip tint. If it did, I would have been super impressed and would have stocked up on it like mad. While it is great at cleansing, it still doesn't trump my current favorite cleansing sherbet, which I know I need to review. The Nooni Snowflake cleanser didn't leave my skin feeling dry after I used it. Even for my full face trial, it felt nice. Still, I think it needs just a tad more cleansing power.

Nooni Snowflake cleanser wasn't able to remove the lip tint fully

Pros:
-3 in 1 cleanser
-doesn't strip the skin
-cleanses most makeup off with ease
-inexpensive

Cons:
-didn't cleanse away my tougher makeup product

My Rating: ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

Final Thoughts: The Nooni Snowflake cleanser is a pretty decent product. It might not be the right product for your toughest lip tint (like it wasn't for mine), but it does remove most makeup with easy which is nice. It's a 3 in 1 product that's easy to use and won't strip the skin.

Would I purchase this in the future? Maybe. It's inexpensive price is very tempting, however, I don't like it over my current favorite cleaner. So, only time will tell. Do I think this product is worth a try? For its price, most definitely. However, there are some things to think about. Are you buying this to remove all your makeup including eyes/lips? Because it might not be able to remove your eyes/lips makeup effectively, as it wasn't for me. If you are removing your eyes/lips makeup with a separate makeup remover and only uses this oil cleanser for areas aside from the eyes/lips, then this is a good candidate.
